President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have written to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud expressing their condolences, while foreign minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali has written to his counterpart Adel Al-Jubeir.

The Friday attempt in Damman, within a week of the deadly attack in Qatif, was foiled by the security agencies.

Even then three people were killed and several sustained injures.

The earlier attack killed at least 21 people and injured 100 more.

“I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack. We pray to Almighty Allah that He gives our Saudi brethren the strength and fortitude to win their fight against such heinous crimes,” the president wrote.

The prime minister also expressed her “deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Your Majesty and through you to the family members of the victims as well as all the Saudi brethren for this sad incident”.

“The people of Bangladesh join me in expressing their solidarity in your fight against terrorism in the country and beyond,” she wrote.

They all reiterated Bangladesh’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism in any forms, and commitment to work together with Saudi Arabia and the world community to fight against this menace.
