‘Hridoy’, ‘Markin’ and ‘Biru’ were named in the case filed by the victim’s father at Kashiani Police Station on Monday.

Police said all three of the accused were absconding since the incident at Char Padmabeel village on Sunday.

“The victim has recently passed her SSC examinations,” said SI Enamul Haque Chowdhury.

“She was headed to her uncle’s house in the evening when the men dragged her to a nearby tree orchard, gagging her mouth.

“They left her there after raping her.”

The victim was admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital, said SI Enamul.

“She is undergoing tests. We’ll get a clearer picture after the process is completed,” said Resident Medical Officer Niaz Mohammad.

The incident follows a series of other gang-rapes that have been reported from throughout the country.

On May 21, a tribal girl, in her 20s, was dragged onto a microbus from near her workplace – Dhaka’s Jamuna Future Park.

She told police five men took turns in raping her on the moving vehicle before dumping her at Uttara.

On May 25, another woman, employed at a firm, was gang-raped by a group of boatmen at Gazipur’s Kaliganj.
