Nirdaliya Chhatra Jote (independent students’ alliance) issued a press release on Saturday saying the march would commence from Dhaka University at 12pm on Sunday.

The statement said the march would press for a law stipulating death penalty as the only punishment for rape.

They would also demand setting up of a speedy trial tribunal to try the cases of sexual assault, it said.

“We would submit a memorandum to the prime minister demanding immediate arrest and trial of those involved in the recent sexual assaults across the country including that in Dhaka University’s TSC area during Bengali New Year celebrations,” the release said.
