Illegally imported mobile phones worth Tk 200 mn seized at Dhaka airport
Seven thousand illegally imported mobile phones worth about Tk 200 million have been seized at Dhaka airport, customs authorities say.

Assistant Commissioner Md Shahiduzzaman Sarkar of Dhaka Customs House said they seized the phones from the Shahajalal International Airport on Saturday morning.
He said as per the declaration, chargers were to be imported but instead mobile phones were smuggled in.
The cargo came in from Bangkok on Thursday.
“Our ‘preventive’ team found the handsets worth around Tk 200 million during a search in the morning,” he said adding that a case had been filed over the incident.
