Customs seizes drugs worth Tk 25 million from Emirates Airlines flight at Dhaka airport

Customs officials have seized drugs worth Tk 25 million from the Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The medicines were confiscated from EK 584 flight of the Emirates Airlines on Wednesday, Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Md Shahiduzzaman Sarkar said.

The consignment was brought from Turkey and was to be delivered to a Dhanmondi address, which was found to be false, he said.

The consignment was of anti-cancer and anti-hypertensive drugs.

On May 17, the Customs Detective Division of the airport had also seized anti-cancer drugs worth Tk 70 million.
