The ‘leguna’, hired by police, was carrying five police officials and 13 suspected criminals, said the SP.

A three-member committee headed by Additional Superintendent of Police Md Delawar Hossain has been formed to investigate the incident, he said.

The investigation report will be filed within three working days, said Rashid.

On Monday afternoon, a covered van collided with a ‘leguna’ carrying police personnel and suspected criminals near Porhabarhi area on the Dhaka-Gazipur highway, killing six convicts and injuring at least 11 people, including the police officials.
