‘Alkaida – Ansarullah Bangla Team-13’ sent the threat letters. The outfit claimed to have killed the bloggers- Ananta Bijoy Das, Avijit Roy, and Oyashikur Rahman.

However, the minister thinks the killers of bloggers and those who threatened to kill the distinguished citizens are not the same people.

Speaking at a programme organised by Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) at the Secretariat on Thursday, the minister said that he found linking of killings of bloggers to the threat letters ‘mysterious’.

According to Khan, the killing of bloggers were well organised and planned well ahead.

“Those who killed bloggers had different motive. Now those who received threat are not bloggers. So I think these are two different matters,” the junior minister said.

But since they received threat, the government would do its best to provide them security, Kamal said.

He also expressed hope that proper investigation would reveal the actual identity of those who sent the letters.
