Four sentenced to death, one to life term for 2006 Bagerhat murder
A Bagerhat court has sentenced four men to death and another to life term for murdering a man in 2006.

Additional District and Sessions Judge-2 Al Asad Md Asifuzzaman in the verdict, however, acquitted six others on Tuesday.
Convicts Lavlu Kha, Habibur Rahman alias Habi, Alamin Hawlader and Billal Hossain have also been fined Tk 20,000 each.
Harun Sheikh, sentenced to life, has been slapped a Tk 25,000 fine.
They will have to serve another year in jail if they fail to pay the fines.
According to case details, the convicts were on bad terms with victim Sarowar Hossain Hawlader.
They hacked Hawlader to death on Feb 20, 2006.
Hawlader’s wife filed a case accusing 17 men of the murder the next day.
Police pressed charges against 12 men the following year.
One of the accused died during the trial.
