Police arrest four for murder of Al-Arafah bank security guard in Chittagong

Police have arrested four persons for the murder of a security guard of Al-Arafah Islami Bank in Chittagong.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mandal told a press conference on Saturday that they were arrested from the port city and Kishoreganj since the murder on May 7.
 
Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Sagar, Mohammad Mahbubul, Gias Uddin and Mazharul Islam Arif.
 
Mandal said they confessed to the murder. 
 
The weapon used for the murder, blood stained clothes and the mobile-phone of the guard were found with them.
 
Mohammad Ibrahim was slaughtered during a robbery attempt at the bank’s Muradpur branch.

The bank’s senior officer Ali Newaz filed a case with Panchlaish police. Detective Branch was given the charge of the investigation later.

Police official Abdul Jalil said Gias was arrested from Shah Amanat Market area of Chittagong first.
Arif was arrested from Baklia and Mahbub and Sagar were nabbed from Kishoreganj on Gias' tip-off, he said.
The police official said six were involved in the murder. They are looking to arrest ‘Raihan’ and ‘Masud’ as well, he added.
