School girl’s body found hanging in Netrokona

Police have recovered a body of a 14-year-old girl hanging by a scarf from a house in Netrokona’s Purbodhola.

The deceased Sudipta Das Dipa was a seventh grader in Urban Academy.

Purbodhola police station’s OC Md Mushfiqur Rahman said they found the body on Tuesday evening after locals informed them.

The OC said, “Dipa’s parents went to work leaving her with her younger sister home. In the evening, neighbours heard Dipa’s sister crying and found the body hanging. Later they informed the police.”

Dipa’s mother Dipali Rani Das is a field worker at BRAC and her father works in a private organization.

OC Rahman said, Dipa’s parents took the body away without any post mortem.

A case of suicide has been filed.
