4 dead in Tekerhat crash

A head-on collision between a truck and a 'Nasimon' (human hauler) has left 4 dead in Gopalganj's Tekerhat.

The accident occurred on the Dhaka-Barisal highway at Muksudpur Upazila around 6.30am on Tuesday, said SI Abdus Salam of the Sindhiaghat police outpost.

Quoting locals, Salam said a truck with poultry feed was heading for Barisal from Faridpur when it rammed into a 'Nasimon' carrying wage labourers who work in paddy fields.

The 'Nasimon' was headed for Chagalicherra in Gopalganj.

The head-on collision near the AB Filling Station left four dead on the spot and at least eight others injured.

The injured were admitted to the Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex. The dead could not be immediately identified.
