RAB said they nabbed Moniruzzaman Chowdhury Monir from a house at Nishchintapur on Monday morning.

On Apr 15, a tin-shed shack, constructed on a lake, caved in killing 12 people.

The tin-hut stood on bamboo poles at the side of a hyacinth-filled lake at Hajiparha’s Jheelpar.

Monir has been on the run since.

Tenants who survived the accident confirmed that the local Juba League leader had constructed the shack and rented it.

Police charged him in a case over the deaths a day after the accident.
