Prime minister’s Press Secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury told bdnews24.com that the PM gave the directive on Monday.

The process of dispatch had already begun, Shamim said. “The relief materials will be transported by road and air,” he said.

More than 7,000 people have died in Nepal after a 7.8 magnitude of earthquake hit the country on Apr 25.

The next day, a 34-member team representing Bangladesh reached Kathmandu carrying emergency aid, medicine, tents, blankets, biscuits and canned food for the victims.

According to the local media, severe landslides and bad weather had hindered relief operations in the remote areas.
