Worker burnt in Gazipur factory fire dies at DMCH

One of the six workers who suffered burns in a fire at an under-construction factory in Gazipur’s Kaliakoir has died at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

DMCH police outpost’s Inspector Mozammel Haque confirmed to bdnews24.com that Rehana Akhter succumbed to her injuries at the burns unit around 8:30pm on Monday.
 
Gas had accumulated from a leaking boiler at ‘Agami Washing Limited’ and the moment Rehana, who used to cook for the workers, lit a stove around 6am fire broke out.
 
The workers were sleeping at that time.
 
Kaliakoir Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Azim Hossain said Rehana along with Fazlul Haque, ‘Dulal’, ‘Yasin’, Abdul Malek and another unidentified worker were rushed to the DMCH.
