They were nabbed from Hazaribagh and Ramna during a raid late on Sunday and early on Monday.

Md Masud was held with Tk 15,000 from Ramna’s Challishghar slums, a day before polls, said Ramna Police OC Mashiur Rahman.

“Masud was caught while he was handing money to voters on behalf of Amir Hossain Amir, BNP-backed councillor candidate for North Dhaka’s Ward 35.”

Earlier, police caught Alauddin from Ganakutuli Lane at Hazaribagh while he was allegedly ‘paying people for votes’.
“Alauddin was found with Tk 20,000. But he didn’t say who he was working for,” said Hazaribagh Police OC Mainul Islam.
OC Mainul however identified Alauddin as vice president of Juba Dal’s Hazaribagh unit.

Campaigns for the polls to Chittagong and Dhaka’s two city corporations, due on Tuesday, have ended on Sunday.
