BSF (Border Security Force) officials have handed them over to BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) and Immigration Police on Sunday evening.

The two are Sheikh Mijanur Rahman, 40, and Saiful Hawladar, 35.

Benapole checkpost immigration’s OC Aslam Khan said they have returned on special passes provided by the Indian government.

They have been put under the custody of Beanpole port police.

OC Aslam told bdnews24.com that agents had sent them to India illegally with the lure of better employment.  After reaching India, Delhi police arrested them and sent them to Tihar jail after conviction.

At the end of their sentence, officials in India and Bangladesh arranged for their return, OC Aslam said.

Benapole Port Station’s SI Kauser Ali said they will be able to return home once the legal procedures are completed.
