President, PM, BNP chief greet Tigers after Twenty20 victory against Pakistan

President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated the Tigers for beating Pakistan in the one-off Twenty20 International.

“I hope the Bangladesh cricket team’s winning streak would continue,” Hamid said in a message on Friday.
 
Bangladesh won the match at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium by seven wickets.
 
It was the Tigers’ first Twenty20 victory against Pakistan.
 
Earlier, Bangladesh won the ODI series 3-0.
 
Prime Minister Hasina watched the match at the stadium and handed over the prizes.
 
She greeted the Tigers waving a national flag after the victory.
  

A congratulatory message sent from her press wing said she also thanked the team manager, coach, officials of Bangladesh Cricket Board and all people associated with the team.
“This victory after the ODI series whitewash has brought Bangladesh cricket team’s professionalism and skill to the spotlight in the world arena,” the message said quoting Hasina.
She also said her government is committed to take any step for the betterment of Bangladesh’s cricket.
BNP chief Khaleda Zia also congratulated the Tigers for their T20 win against Pakistan.
