Hasina flies back home after attending Asian-African summit in Jakarta

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned from Indonesia after attending the 60th Commemoration of Asian-African Conference in Jakarta.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage touched down the Shahjalal International Airport after around 11:15pm on Thursday.
 
It left Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta at 7:30pm (local time).
 
Indonesia Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim saw her off at the airport.
 
She went to Jakarta to attend the summit on Tuesday.
 
Representatives of 106 countries, including heads of government and state of 34 countries, joined the conference.
 
On Wednesday, the prime minister urged the world leaders to work together to tackle violence and reduce poverty.
 
She identified three key post-Millenium Development Goals (MDG) priorities - fighting hunger and inequality, tackling terrorism and extremism and developing sustained cooperation.

On the sidelines, she met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Myanmar’s President U Thein Sein, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chinese President Xi Jin Ping and Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Heisen Loong .
 
She later attended a dinner hosted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

Thursday’s session started with Hasina as the co-chair with Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.
 
After the plenary session, she held bilateral meetings with Indonesia’s Widodo, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.
