Police suspect it is a case of suicide.

The body of Enayet Kabir Chanchal, found shot in the head, was recovered around 11am on Wednesday, said Dhanmondi Police OC Abu Bakar Siddique.

He said that the other residents of the building informed police after hearing sounds of gunfire.

“The body was found in a toilet beside the parking lot. The door was locked from the inside. The body with a pistol in Chanchal's right hand was found after breaking the door,” said the police officer.

They suspect it was a suicide, he added.

Chanchal was a presidium member of Juba League, the ruling party’s youth affiliate.

Awami League Sub Committee Assistant Secretary Abul Hasnat Chowdhury said he was suffering from migraine.

“His family informed that he shot himself on the head,” Chowdhury said.
