307 executive magistrates to oversee Dhaka city polls
The government will deploy 307 executive magistrates, giving them judicial power, to maintain law and order during Dhaka North and South city corporation elections.

A public administration ministry order on Wednesday said 143 of them would cover Dhaka North from Apr 26-29, while the rest Dhaka South.
It also said the administrative cadres would be empowered to prevent crimes, violation of poll codes, and maintain law and order by appointing them as executive magistrates under the mobile court law.
They have been asked to report by 3pm on Apr 25 to the Dhaka District Magistrate, who would assign them their duties and arrange for their accommodation and conveyance.
