One dies in Kushtia ‘gunbattle’
A man has been killed in an alleged encounter with police in Kushtia.

Police claim ‘Milon’ also known as ‘Data Milon’, 32, was a member of a robber gang who was accused in several cases of murder and robbery.
The so-called skirmish took place early on Monday on the Kushtia-Mirpur road at Baruiparha Union.
Mirpur Police Station OC Kazi Jalal Uddin said they were tipped off about an attempted robbery on the road.
“The robbers fired at police as they approached. But they left after a skirmish,” he said.
“We found Milon wounded and took him to hospital where doctors declared him dead,” the OC added.
Two policemen were also injured in the skirmish, he said. They have been given first aid.
Police claimed they recovered a chainsaw and several machetes from the spot.
