President, PM lead greetings to Bangladesh on first-ever series win against Pakistan

President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated the Bangladesh cricket team after they sealed their first-ever series win against Pakistan.

Chasing 240 runs, the Tigers beat the tourists by seven wickets in the second game of the three-match ODI series on Sunday.
 
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah have also felicitated the Tigers.
 
The prime minister watched Sunday’s game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
 
She joined thousands of spectators in the gallery in applauding and waved the national flag as Shakib Al Hasan worked a single behind square leg in the 39th over to bring up the winning run.
 

Hasina in a statement sent by her press wing said the historic win had put Bangladesh in a respectable position among the international cricket giants.
Congratulating the team, coaches, management and the Bangladesh Cricket Board, she also hoped the Tigers would continue the winning streak.
President Hamid in another statement felicitated the team for the back-to-back win against Pakistan.
He also praised the team, coaches, manager and the BCB.
