An alleged ‘robber’ has been lynched by the mob in Narayanganj, say police.

Narayanganj’s Araihazar Police Station OC Md Alamgir said ‘Rubel’, 25, was beaten to death around 11:30pm on Saturday.
He said, quoting locals, a group of robbers was chased by the villagers while they were looting pedestrians on Madanpur-Narsingdi road.
“They (the mob) caught ‘Rubel’ and beat him to death on the spot.”
However, Rubel’s father Daud Mia claimed his son had gone to Noadda village to attend a religious ceremony.
According to OC Alamgir, at least eight cases of robbery were pending against ‘Rubel’.
