Bangladesh finally broke their 16-year old hoodoo against Pakistan in all forms of cricket, crushing them by 79 runs at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Congratulating the team, coaches and management, the president in a statement said, “I hope Bangladesh cricket team will continue the winning streak against Pakistan.”

The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil said Hasina praised the team, coaches, manager and the BCB.

A statement from her press wing said the prime minister also hoped that the Tigers will keep winning the upcoming matches.

Bangladesh earlier in the day posted a huge 329 for 6 - their highest total in an ODI – powered by superb centuries by Tamim Iqbal (132) and Mushfiqur Rahim (106).

Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny led the Tigers’ defence as the tourists were bundled out for 250 in 45.2 overs.
