BSF hand back 5 illegal Bangladeshi migrants

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) have returned five Bangladeshis who have finished serving various prison  terms in India for illegal trespass.

The five including three women and one child were handed over to Bangladesh’s BGB and Immigration Police on Thursday evening, Benapole Check Post Immigration OC Aslam Khan said.
 
The five are Jessore’s Hajarika Mollika, 30 and her son Akash Mollik, 5, Shatkhira’s Julekha Khatun, 28, and Salma Khatun, 26, and Patuakhali’s Sujan Hawlader, 22.  
 
The official told bdnews24.com that traffickers duped the five with offers of good jobs and sent them to India. “They were caught by Indian police from various parts of the country and were sentenced to prison terms ranging from two to five years.”
 
“They took refuge at Sanglap, Sukonna and Jabala Shelter Home in Kolkata after serving their terms. They came back using special passes given by the Indian government following communication between the home ministries of the two countries.”
 
The five were handed over to Benapole Port police later at night after completion of formalities.
 
Port police Sub Inspector Kawser Ali said, the five were handed after completion of legal process to human rights organisations, Right Jessore and Bangladesh Jatiya Mahila Ainjibi Samiti, to be taken to their families.
