Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) suspects Border Security Force (BSF) of India is linked to the deaths.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Hakim, 35, and Mohammad Sharif, 25.

Locals said they were involved with smuggling.

They called BGB when they saw the body of Hakim along Fatepur border on Wednesday afternoon.

BGB-9 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abu Zafar Sheikh Mohammad Bazlul Haque said Sharif died when he was being taken to a hospital.

He was found in critical condition along Masudpur border, he said.

The BGB official also said they informed BSF about the incidents.

A flag meeting was called over the matter on Thursday.

BGB officials said they suspect the victims were beaten to death by BSF
personnel.
