Bangladesh Air Force’s training plane crashes at Dhaka airport, no casualties

A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft has crash-landed on the runway at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport, only six days after the death of a private flying school’s trainee in a crash at Rajshahi.

Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh Adviser Group Captain HM Akhter Khan told bdnews24.com the nose-wheel of the aircraft broke during the landing attempt at around 4:15pm on Tuesday.

“There were no casualties,” he said.

An official of the airport said the runway was closed for nearly half an hour after the crash while the aircraft was being removed.

When contacted, an official on duty at the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) said they heard of the accident but did not have details.

On Apr 1, a training aircraft of Bangladesh Flying Academy & General Aviation Ltd crashed during take-off at Shah Makhdum Airport of Rajshahi, killing the trainee pilot and injuring the trainer.
