Responding to a question in Parliament on Thursday, he said ticket prices had not increased, although employees’ salaries and oil prices had gone up.

Railway was targeted during the BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami alliance’s countrywide agitation.

Hoque said the government had beefed up railway security to ensure passenger safety.

Apart from deploying Ansar and VDP personnel, rail police have been deployed and an emergency cell has been opened.

He added that they were also running ‘Advance Pilot Engine’ for the train safety.
