No excuse for such barbaric attacks, US says on Bangladesh online activist’s murder
The United States has condemned the brutal murder of online activist Oyasiqur Rahman Babu and said it “stands in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh as they confront religious intolerance and violence”.

“There is no excuse for such barbaric attacks which are a direct assault upon universal human rights and undermine freedom of expression,” read a US embassy statement posted on its Facebook page.
Oyasiqur was hacked to death on Monday, a month after writer-blogger Avijit Roy was brutally murdered in Dhaka.
Locals caught two madrasa students and handed them to police immediately after the attack at Tejgaon.
“We are horrified and deeply saddened by the murder of Oyasiqur Rahman Babu, and we offer our condolences to his family and friends,” the US said.
Police are yet to crack Roy’s murder case.
