Dance-drama in Dhaka, Tangail as part of Independence Day celebrations

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, India’s cultural hub in Dhaka, will stage a dance-drama on the history and achievements of 1971 as part of it celebrations dedicated to Bangladesh’s Independence Day.

India was a key ally of Bangladesh during the war against Pakistan.

Indian High Commission says a Kolkata-based group, ‘Manjir’, will perform in Dhaka and Tangail as a tribute to Bangladesh Independence Day that fell on March 26 .

The first show at the Shawkat Osman Memorial auditorium of the Central Public Library at Shahbagh will be at 6pm on Tuesday. The show at Bhashani Hall in Tangail at 6pm will be held the next day.

Entry is free at both events styled ‘Swadhinata Sangram’.
