Shake-up in police

The government has shuffled five additional deputy inspectors general (ADIG) and 10 superintendents of police (SP) in its latest shake-up.

The home ministry on Sunday issued an order making the changes.

Khulna Metropolitan Police’s Additional Commissioner Md Aurangzeb Mahbub has been made the commandant (ADIG) of Khagrhachharhi Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and the Specialised Training Centre.

Khulna Range’s ADIG Khondker Rafiqul Islam has been transferred as a director at the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

APBn Headquarters’ ADIG Hasan Ul Haider has been made the commandant of the Police Training Centre (PTC) in Tangail.

Hasib Aziz has been made an ADIG at APBn Headquarters, while Dhaka CID’s ADIG Md Habibur Rahman has replaced him as the commandant of the Noakhali PTC.

Superintendent of Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA) in Rajshahi’s Sardah Rezaul Karim Mallik has been transferred as an SP at the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in Dhaka.

Barisal Range Reserve Force (RRF) Commandant Qazi Mortaj Ahmed has been made an SP in Dhaka’s Tourist Police.

Khulna RRF Commandant (SP) Md Nazmul Karim Khan and Mymensingh APBn Commander (SP) Md Delwar Hossain Miah have been transferred to Dhaka CID as SPs.

Bogra APBn Commander (SP) Abu Naser Mohammad Khaled has been transferred to Barisal APBn and Dhaka’s Special Security and Protection Battalion (SPBn) SP Md Akkas Uddin Bhuiyan to Mymensingh APBn.

Barisal APBn Commander Md Abdur Rahim has been transferred to the Khulna PTC as an SP and Sylhet RRF Commandant (SP) Md J Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan to Rajshahi BPA.

Md Abu Kalam Siddique has been made Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s deputy commissioner (DC), while Barisal Metropolitan Police DC Molla Nazrul Islam has replaced him as the Joypurhat SP.
