The Navy rescued 15 people while being trafficked to Malaysia

Bangladesh Navy officials have rescued 15 people from the outer anchorage in Chittagong while they were being trafficked to Malaysia.

The Navy have also detained three people on charges of trafficking them.

A trawler and a motorised boat have been recovered during the rescue operation.

The Navy’s media section said 15 people were being trafficked to Malaysia in a motorised boat on Wednesday night.

Members of the Navy patrol stopped the trawlers and detained 18 people. However, they could not specify the identification of the detained.

The detained have been handed over to the Patenga Police Station.
