He was admitted to the Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital on Thursday morning.

Hospital Director Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin said the 40-year-old’s windpipe had been badly damaged.

Over a hundred people have been killed during the BNP-led alliance’s agitation since Jan 5, mostly in fire bombing.

Sheikh, a truck driver’s assistant, was returning to Shibganj when blockade campaigners attacked the potato-laden truck with petrol bombs.

Driver Firoz Uddin, 30, and businessman Shaheb Ali, 40, were injured and the merchandise destroyed, Sheikh’s uncle ‘Ismail’ said.
