Two trucks and a bus torched in Joypurhat

Blockade supporters have torched two trucks and a bus in Joypurhat.

Joypurhat Police Station Inspector Shirajul Islam said the trucks carrying vegetables and crops had been attacked near Upazila Sadar and Baniaparha area on Tuesday morning.
 
According to the locals, ten to twelve men riding motorcycles began to hurl stones and bricks at the trucks.
 
They set fire to the truck once the driver and his assistant got off.
 
Police and fire service officials put out the fire.
 
The assistant, ‘Rasel’ was hit by bricks and left with a broken arm. He had been taken to the local hospital, said the Inspector.
 
Sometime later, a bus on the Joypurhat-Baniaparha highway was stopped and set on fire.
 
Joypurhat Fire Service Inspector Jahanur Islam said fire service officials doused the fire.
 
Bus driver ‘Bablu’ told the reporters that about five to six men on motorcycles had fired at the bus.
 
They torched the bus and left after the passengers got off.
 
No casualties have been reported.
