Derailment disrupts Sylhet's rail links with Dhaka and Chittagong

Sylhet’s train links with Dhaka and Chittagong has resumed after being suspended for more than five hours.

Derailment of a Chittagong bound cargo train at Habiganj around 6am Monday caused the disruption. One of the carriages went off the tracks.

Train communications resumed around 11.30am after the derailed carriage was removed,

Shayestaganj Railway Station’s Master Shahidul Islam told bdnews24.com.

The cause of the derailment is not yet known and no one was injured, he said.
