The 30-year-old Jahangir, a resident of Nishchintapur village of Bogra’s Kahalu and truck driver’s assistant, passed away around 3:15am on Friday, DMCH police camp’s Inspector Mozammel Haque told bdnews24.com.

The driver of the truck, Masud, 35, and Jahangir were on their way to Kahalu from Syed Ahmed Station of the Gabtali Upazila deep in the night of Jan 23 when their truck was firebombed in the Charmatha area of Bogra city.

Both of them were referred to the DMCH from the Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital that night in a critical condition. Masud is still under treatment.

More than a hundred people have died in violence around the country, mostly from burns, in the continuous blockades and shutdown being enforced by the BNP-led alliance since Jan 5.
