Bangladesh appoints ambassador for mission in Lebanon

The government has decided to appoint Abdul Motaleb Sarker as the new Bangladesh Ambassador to Lebanon, the foreign ministry says.

A career diplomat, Sarker is currently serving as a Director General in the ministry.
He served in Bangladesh missions in Beijing, Paris, Rabat and Los-Angeles in different capacities in his long career after joining the foreign service in the 13th batch of BCS.
He studied agriculture from erstwhile Bangladesh Agriculture Institute in Dhaka, now Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University.
The foreign ministry says Sarker takes "immense interest in reading and exploring new opportunities for Economic Diplomacy".
Md Nazrul Islam is the Charge d’Affaires of this new Bangladesh mission.
