One dies in Sirajganj after petrol bomb hurled at autorickshaw

An autorickshaw passenger has died in Sirajganj after a petrol bomb was hurled during the BNP-led alliance's ongoing blockade.

The attack at Sirajganj town's Ramgati area left five others burnt.

The dead has been identified as Ganesh Chandra Das, 35.

Sirajganj Sadar Police Station's Assistant Sub-inspector Nurul Islam told bdnews24.com that miscreants threw a petrol bomb at the autorickshaw around 8pm.

The six injured in the attacked were rushed to the Sirajganj Sadar Hospital. But, Das died on the way.

The hospital's doctor Abdullah Al Kafi told bdnews24.com that Das did not suffer burns but his nose was bleeding and that he died on the way.

The five others have suffered burns and two of them have been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospitals in critical condition, he added.
