Fakhrul brought to Dhaka for interrogation in vandalism case

BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been brought to Dhaka from Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur for interrogation in a case, over vandalising a vehicle, filed with Paltan police.

Senior Superintendent of the jail Mohammad Jahangir Kabir said a team led by Paltan police Sub-Inspector Mohammad Enayet Karim left the jail for Dhaka with the BNP leader around 10am on Saturday.

The team reached the Paltan Police Station around 11:45am, OC Mohammad Khorshed Alam said.

Later the BNP leader was taken to the Detective Branch office for interrogation.

A Dhaka court on Jan 27 ordered to remand Fakhrul for three days.

He was accused in the case over vandalising a vehicle in Paltan area on Dec 28.

He was arrested from the National Press Club on Jan 7.
