2 Bangladeshis clubbed to death in South Africa

Two Bangladeshi shopkeepers have been beaten to death in South Africa, according to media reports.

The reports of the international news agencies quoted police as saying the men, aged 26 and 27, were found dead on Thursday in the back room of their shop near the casino resort of Sun City, northwest of Johannesburg.

The victims were not named.

The incident was the latest in a series of violent attacks on immigrants, they said.

"They seem to have been hit with hard objects like a hammer, all over the body," police spokesman Thulani Ngubane was quoted as saying.

"They were confirmed dead on the scene," the police spokesperson further said.

A third man, who was thought to live or work with the men, was missing, the reports added.

A Facebook page of Bangladeshi expatriates in South Africa said three were dead in the attack.

The page also posted photos of the attack.
