President, PM mourn Saudi King’s death

Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have joined the global leaders to mourn the death of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.

He died in hospital early Friday. His brother, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has taken over as king.
President Hamid, in a message, expressed his “deepest condolences” on his death.
“It is, indeed, an irreparable loss for the Royal family, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Muslim Ummah and the whole world,” he said.
He recalled the “graciousness” of the King towards Bangladesh and its workers in the Kingdom.
“The people of Bangladesh join me in praying for his eternal peace and the highest place for him in the paradise”.
Prime Minister Hasina, in a separate message, also expressed “deepest condolences”.
She said Bangladesh had lost “one of her great caring brothers and generous well-wishers, the Muslim Ummah has lost its guardian and the world has lost a great leader”.

“The loss is irreparable,” she said, while praying for the eternal peace of his departed soul.
