Chhatra Dal activist’s body found in Noakhali

Police have recovered the body of a Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activist in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri Upazila and that of a Kuwati expatriate in Amishapara.

The victim, identified as Morshed Alam Parvez, 25, belonged to the Sonapur Union’s Chhatra Dal faction, confirmed the union’s BNP chairman ‘Selim’.

Sonaimuri police station OC Ashraful Islam said the assailants had shot Parvez dead and left the body beside the road in Tinteri on Thursday night.

Police recovered the body around midnight and sent it to the Noakhali Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of a Kuwaiti expatriate from a betel vine in the upazila’s Amishapara Union on Friday morning.

He was identified as, Saleh Ahammed, 45. The body had wounds inflicted with sharp objects.

Saleh Ahammed had gone missing after leaving his home on Thursday night. Locals informed the police after locating his body, said police quoting relatives.

Earlier, four persons were shot in a clash among locals of the Upazila’s Abirpara and Shibpur around 11pm.

Abur Khair Abu, ‘Jahid’, ‘Jasim’ and ‘Swapan’ were injured in the clash.

Abul Khair was shifted to a hospital in Dhaka in a critical condition.
