The ship carrying the Bangladeshis will bring back Myanmar security personnel who crossed the border recently amid fighting with rebels
The seizure took place during a regular patrol near the Sangu gas field around 1am on Thursday, Navy commander Aswad Hossain Russell told bdnews24.com.
The navy officers ordered the sailors of the motorised boat to stop. Instead of following order, the boat headed towards land, where it was detained by the navy, he said.
"The criminals fled the scene and the navy officers found the tablets in nine packets stashed in a sack on the boat."
“Each packet contained 10,000 pills,” Commander Russell added.
