Juba League leader dies in truck accident

Juba League Joint Secretary of Gazipur Sadar Upazila has died when hit by a truck.

Rakib Hossain Jewel, 30, was returning home on a motorbike when a truck hit him around Wednesday midnight on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

“A rice-laden truck lost control and ran him over as it turned turtleat Masterbari area. Rakib died at the spot," said Abdullah-Al-Mamun, the victim’s cousin.

Nawjor Highway Police Ouspost Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman said the body was handed over to a relative without an autopsy following their request. The truck has been detained.
