Three workers electrocuted while setting up billboard in Savar

Three workers have been electrocuted and another injured while setting up a billboard of an advertising agency in Savar, on capital Dhaka's outskirts.

Savar Model Police Station OC Mostafa Kamal said the incident happened at Khagan locality at Birulia Union on Wednesday evening.

Police have also detained supervisor of the advertising agency, the Triple Ad, Yunus Ali over the incident.

The deceased have been identified as 'Hasem', 22, 'Momtaj', 32, and 'Anu', 36.

Injured Rafiqul Islam, 35, has been admitted to Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar.

All the victims were from the capital’s Manda, the OC said.

He said the billboard, while being set up beside the road in Khagan area, came in contact with an overhead live electric wire, seriously injuring four workers.

Three of them were declared dead after being rushed to the Enam Medical College and Hospital.

OC Kamal said the supervisor had been held for questioning.
