Japan’s development arm JICA, and the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) would jointly organise the ‘International Kaizen Convention 2014’ at Westin Hotel.

JICA says Kaizen concept that means ‘one office, one improvement in a continuous way’ has brought small changes to many districts.

The BPATC has adopted the concept of improving quality of services by civil servants in different Upazilas.
Some “impressive” success stories like ‘beggar-free Upazila’, ‘organised land record room’ or ‘clean school walls’ would be presented and shared among the participants.
Mayor of Japan’s Sanjo City Isato Kunisada, State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique, and JICA Chief Representative Mikio Hataeda would be present as guests, among others.
Sanjo City will organise the ‘Inter-City Kaizen Convention’ next year in Japan.
It has also invited Bangladeshi counterparts to share their experiences in the convention, JICA says.
