Ferry crossings on the Shimuliya-Kawrakandi route were suspended for five hours.
Seven ferries loaded with hundreds of vehicles were stuck in mid-Padma as the marking points and beacons were not visible.
Services resumed around 8am after the fog started to clear, said Shimuliya Ferry Landing Point's Assistant Manager Shekhar Chandra Roy.
Ferry services have been disrupted in the night for the last few days due to heavy fog cover with the onset of winter.
More than six hundred vehicles were seen waiting on Saturday at the crossing points on both sides, which connect the Southern part of the country with the capital.
