Several people have been hospitalised after the incident in Faridpur’s Madhukhali Upazila
Religious Affairs Secretary Chowdhury Md Babul Hassan said after a meeting at the Secretariat that the Hajj package will be tabled at the Cabinet on Dec 8.
“Hajj activities, including depositing money, will run from Dec 15 to Jan 30. Bangladesh is supposed to sign a Hajj deal with the Saudi government on Feb 6 or 7.”
Bangladesh has drawn the Hajj schedule early because Saudi Arabia is bringing its Hajj programme online from next year, the secretary said.
The pilgrims will have to register online using Machine Readable Passport (MRP) from next year onwards.
