"The report will be submitted to me today," State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid Bipu told reporters after a seminar on Wednesday.

Asked what caused the massive power cut, the minister said:"I am yet to see the report. Let me take a look at it. It will take a day or two to talk with you (the media) about this."

On Nov 1, a grid failure left Bangladesh without electricity for almost eight hours. An official of the Bherhamara Power Station said a glitch there caused the outage. The power imported from India connects to Bangladesh's grid through this station in Kushtia.

The seven-strong enquiry committee has visited the Bherhamara power station as well as the Ashuganj Thermal Power Plant at Brahmanbarhia.

On Nov 6, when the probe team submitted its initial report, the minister had said: "There was a failure in our grid. Nothing happened on the Indian side."

The media on Wednesday repeatedly asked the minister about the reason behind the failure.

"Our prime focus is not to let such incidents happen in future," he said.
