His son, Abu Hena Munshi, has demanded the immediate arrest of the murderers.

Hossain, who was also the district Krishak League president, was sent to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital after being shot on Friday morning.

He died while on treatment early on Saturday, said his relatives.

Police sent the body to morgue for autopsy in the morning.

Faridpur Medical College and Hospital doctor Sujeet Kumar said two bullets pierced Hossain.

The victim’s son said his younger brother Tutul Munshi filed a murder case at the Pangsha Police Station.

“I am demanding swift arrests of my father’s murderers,” Hena Munshi said.

Several miscreants fired at Nader Hossain, a freedom fighter, when he was heading for Pangsha from the Upazila’s Kacharipara Market area on Friday morning.

Pangsha Police OC Md Abul Basar said, “We are running operations. We are hopeful of nabbing the culprits soon.”
